geeta :: :: shri krisna ki prbachana




 
Sanjaya was given the divine power by Lord Krishna to watch the great Mahabharat War and recite the events to Dhritarashtra, the blind father of Kaurava brothers. Geeta actually starts with Dhritarashtra asking Sanjaya, Tell me Sanjaya, what did my sons (Kauravas) and Pandu’s sons (Pandavas) did in the bettle field where they had gone with the intention of fierce bettle? The short poem below describes the mental status of Dhritarashtra on the evening of the first day of bettle, awaiting Sanjaya’s return with all information
 
 
 

 
 
At the end of Geeta, there are seven shlokas that describe the benefits of reading Geeta. A translation of these shlokas into Hindi verses is given below. Rajiv Krishna Saxena
